CTS Wrist Support (Night Splint)

011 FREE
There are eight carpal bones at the wrist joint, the carpus. A thick ligament called the carpal ligament that goes from one side of the carpus to the other side forms the roof of the carpal canal. Nine of the flexor tendons and the median nerve run through the carpal canal. Increased compression on the median nerve will cause Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS)[1]. CTS is characterized by symptoms of numbness, tingling and pain in the thumb and fingers, in particular the index and middle fingers and radial half of the ring finger. Pain may extend up the arm and weak grip strength may occur and after a long period of time. Some common conditions that can lead to CTS include obesity, repetitive wrist work, pregnancy and rheumatoid arthritis[2]. The symptoms are worse at night because during sleep your hand is more likely to be bent to the side. A splint can prevent this from happening [3]. The wrist splint can hold the joint in a neutral position to decreasing pressure on median in carpal tunnel.
