The spine has three main sections, cervical, thoracic, and lumbar. In addition, two fused vertebrae, the sacrum and the coccyx. The thoracolumbar spine (T1-L5) has two normal curvatures, lordotic in the lumbar region and kyphotic in the thoracic region. Postural kyphosis or Slouching posture is an excess curvature in the upper back. Several factors such as back muscles weakness, sitting and standing incorrectly and special conditions during juvenile puberty and growth can cause postural kyphosis. Also some vertebral fracture, disc degeneration and clavicle fractures can cause this posture. This clavicle bandage is figure of eight bandage that prevent slouching and help to treat clavicle fractures by pulling shoulders back into a proper.

  • During upright standing retract shoulders and keep this position for a while, then release the contraction. Perform this exercise alternately several times a day.
  • Sleep prone position and try to lifting head and chest from the ground up
  • Pull-ups and swimming exercise is beneficial
